MANILA, Philippines—The Gilas Pilipinas men's team was simply too much for Indonesia in the final of the 3x3 basketball competition.

The Filipinos earned another comfortable win, 21-9, to claim the gold medal in the 30th Southeast Asian Games and complete a sweep of the event, having won all eight of their matches.

The win completed a gold sweep for the Philippines in the inaugural 3x3 SEA Games competition, after the women's team survived a gallant stand by Thailand a few minutes earlier to take the title.

CJ Perez fired the host nation to a great start, but it was Moala Tautuaa who put the finishing touches in the victory with a two-pointer that sealed the deal with time to spare.

There was still 2:25 left on the clock when Tautuaa sank his twinner, and the crowd at FilOil Flying V Centre roared in celebration, as the Philippine men's team wrapped up its dominance of the event.

Save for a slow start in their first game of the event against Indonesia, the Filipinos cruised to victory in their games, using their advantage in size to overwhelm the field.

Joining Perez and Tautuaa in the gold medal-winning team are Chris Newsome and Jason Perkins.
