University of the Philippines' Juan Gomez de Liano took to Twitter to bemoan the officiating in the Fighting Maroons' loss to the Ateneo Blue Eagles on Saturday.

Gomez de Liano said the referees need to do a "better job" in Game 2 of the UAAP Season 81 finals.

Allan Manzano, Don Arguelles, and Sam del Rosario were in charge of the finals opener at Mall of Asia Arena, where UP lost 88-79.

De Liano was visibly upset at the officials during the game, making his feelings repeatedly known about some of the calls.

At one point, he was slapped with a technical for complaining after he thought he was fouled on a three-point make.

De Liano finished with 17 points and 8 rebounds in the game, which many thought were interrupted far too often by the referees' whistles and warnings for both teams.
