Just like in his first 3 fights in the ONE Championship banner, heavyweight champion Brandon Vera finished his opponent in a quick and stunning fashion.

Vera connected on a counter left hook and put a wild charging Mauro Cerilli to sleep just 64 seconds after the opening bell.

The fight ended so quickly he felt he needed to apologize to his fans.

"Did I expect it to end that soon? No way," said Vera following his victory.

Vera said he actually prepared for a 5-round bout since Cerilli looked to be a menacing opponent.

He was also wary of Cerilli's overhand right that he sought a quick ending when he found an opening.

"The one punch that he hit me when we punched each other at the same time, split all the skin inside my mouth," said Vera. "Good news that it ended like that."

Vera acknowledged that quick finishes do leave some fans complaining because of the short length of the fight.

"Pasensya, ha? Everybody's always, 'Ambilis naman,' " he said in jest.

"Sige next time labas ako ng cage, ikaw naman ang pumasok. Tapusin n'yo ang 5 rounds, kayo na lang ang bahala."

All his last 4 fights in ONE Championship never got past the first round.

He stopped Igor Subora 3:54 minutes in into the first frame in 2014 and he knocked out Paul Cheng in 24 seconds a year later.

He also halted Hideki Sekine 3:11 in the first round before going through a 2 year layoff.

Meanwhile, the 41-year-old champion sees himself still competing in 5 years depending on how his body feels.

"My brain is gonna want me to do this forever, but my body I figured maybe 5 more years? We'll see," he said.

Vera is also pushing through with his acting career following the success of his recent movie "BuyBust."

"Nakausap ko ang management group and we already have already 3 movies on the books, 2 here and one in (Hong Kong) and here. That's not gonna be 2 years, I'm not gonna be away I promise," he said.
