MANILA, Philippines — University of Santo Tomas team captain Louie Vigil said he harbors no ill will toward head coach Boy Sablan after he was benched for the entirety of the first half of their UAAP Season 79 game against Adamson on Wednesday.

Vigil, along with Marvin Lee, Renzo Subido and Kent Lao rode the pine during the first half, in what Sablan later described as a disciplinary action. They started the second half, but couldn't stop UST losing 76-61 and falling 3-10.

"Wala," Vigil said when asked if there were any hard feelings on his part.

"Ine-expect ko nga na 'di ako makakalaro pero binigyan pa rin kami ng chance. Siguro miscommunication lang din."

Neither Sablan nor the players referred to a specific incident that led to the disciplinary action, but Vigil said he was willing to accept the blame.

"Kahit ano namang sabihin ni coach, sorry na lang," he said. "I can take all the blame naman, personally."

Lee and Subido were admittedly frustrated at not being able to play in the first half but they were likewise quick to accept responsibility.

"At first, we were frustrated. It's our last few games in Season 79, and we want to play and end the season with an impact," Subido said. "But it's the coach's decision, so we couldn't do anything.

"We just have to make it up to him, prove to him that whatever happened won't happen again."

Lee said he was thankful to have played in the second half. The second-year guard was scoreless in six minutes with one turnover, while Subido didn't score in less than five minutes of play.

"Tapos na rin naman 'yun," said Lee. "Hindi na naman dapat balikan 'yun. Move on na lang."
