Beninese big man Soulemane Chabi Yo earned Most Valuable Player honors, after averaging 16.93 points and 14.71 rebounds per game for the Growling Tigers in his first season in the UAAP. He finished with 76 statistical points (SPs) to lead the league.

Chabi Yo transferred to UST from Colegio de San Lorenzo, and fulfilled his residency requirements last year. He made an immediate impact in Season 82, leading the Growling Tigers to an 8-6 win-loss record and the No. 4 seed.

Baltazar finished second in the MVP race with 64 SPs, built on averages of 15.14 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.07 blocks per game. Malonzo, meanwhile, had 63.23 SPs after norming 15.8 points and 9.9 rebounds per game.

A Mythical Team selection in his final high school year in Season 81, Nonoy moved up to UST's senior team and shone immediately, alternating with Renzo Subido as the Tigers' playmaker.

UST actually completed a clean sweep of the individual awards as Grace Irebu repeated as MVP in the women's division. The Congolese center led the Tigresses to an 11-3 record and the second seed in the elimination round.
