‪MANILA - Sibol, the Philippines' Southeast Asian Games representatives in esports, dominated other international teams in a test event held at the FilOil Flying V Center on Monday. ‬

‪Top-tier Tekken player Andreij “Doujin” Albar took home the first gold medal for the test event after besting Indonesia’s MEAT in the final round. ‬

‪After losing the first match using Heihachi, Albar chose to use Panda, proceeding to win the next three matches to win the final.

The country’s Dota team, meanwhile, bucked a relatively slow start to draw first blood after clobbering the Malaysian team, with a 28 - 18 kill gap in their opening game. ‬

‪Sibol’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team clobbered crowd favorites Indonesia in a sweep to claim the third gold medal for the Philippines in the test event. ‬

‪Alvin Juban, the team’s manager, believes things are looking up for the national team after the test event’s outcome.‬

‪“I think everybody better watch out because the Philippines just showed the rest of the world that the Philippines is ready,” Juban told ABS-CBN News‬.

Four countries, namely the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia competed in the test event.

‪Nine countries are set to compete for six titles at the SEA Games esports competition, which will run from December 5-10 at the same venue. ‬
