The Philippines men’s national softball team finished third in the Makassar Open in Indonesia recently.

The Blu Boys ended up with a 7-3 win-loss record, behind New Zealand and Malaysian team Lakidende, who will compete for the title.

“The team’s strong performance in the competition is a testament to how Filipinos can excel in softball. With the Blu Boys as their role models, I hope that more young Filipinos will take up the sport,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, president of the Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines.

The Blu Boys started their campaign by toppling Bedford (Australia) 10-9, before succumbing to New Zealand 5-1.
