MANILA, Philippines -- Ever since losing to Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) last August 21, Javee Mocon and the San Beda University Red Lions have played like a team on a mission.

That mission? To get back at the Pirates.

"Babawi kami sa LPU," the graduating San Beda forward once declared on live TV.

Mocon is backing up his words with actions. In their last game before their rematch with Lyceum, the San Beda forward sent a statement to the Pirates by tallying 24 points and 11 rebounds in San Beda’s 90-52 drubbing of the Arellano University Chiefs last Thursday.

For this, Mocon was hailed as the Chooks-to-Go/Collegiate Sports Press Corps NCAA Player of the Week.

But the San Beda lifer is hoping that it's not just him who is hyped for the upcoming contest.

"Sana springboard sa amin ito going into the Lyceum game, especially for our bench players. Kailangan namin silang lahat for that game," he hopes.

Though having clinched a twice-to-beat advantage in the NCAA Season 94 men's basketball Final 4, decorated Red Lions head coach Boyet Fernandez is still going all out to close out their elimination round campaign.

"We will treat our final two games as playoff games. We will be ready," he said.

Mocon bested fellow Red Lion Robert Bolick, Colegio de San Juan de Letran's duo of Bong Quinto and JP Calvo, and Lyceum's CJ Perez for the weekly honor given by print and online writers covering the NCAA.
