MANILA, Philippines – Hall-of-Fame boxing trainer Freddie Roach got his first taste of UAAP action as he watched the first round Season 79 game between archrivals De La Salle University and Ateneo de Manila University on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Wearing a green La Salle shirt and sitting beside prominent La Salle alumnus Quinito Henson, Roach expressed excitement at the prospect of watching a UAAP game live for the first time.

"I'm always into college basketball wherever I am in the world," Roach told reporters before the game. "It's a great sport, and I think it's going to be a lot of fun."

Asked about his support of La Salle, Roach said: "I met the team yesterday, I met the players and the coaches. I like them."
