Azkals' build-up for Suzuki Cup continues in Bangladesh

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine men's national football team will continue its preparations for the 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup and the 2019 AFC Asian Cup by competing in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football Tournament this month.

The competition is organized by the Bangladesh Football Federation, and will run from October 1-12.

The Philippines will face host Bangladesh and Laos in Group B. The other group comprises of Nepal, Palestine, and Tajikistan.

The Philippines will first face Laos on October 3 followed by Bangladesh on October 5. Both matches will be held at the Sylhet Zila Stadium in Sylhet, Bangladesh.

The top two teams at the end of the group stage will advance to the knockout stages.

Calling the shots for the Azkals is head coach Scott Cooper, assisted by Andres Gonzales and Randolfo Clarino.

Twenty-one players were called up for the tournament, and the team left last Friday for Bangladesh.
