MANILA - All eyes will be on Sisi Rondina when University of Santo Tomas opens its campaign for a third consecutive women’s crown in the UAAP Season 81 beach volleyball tournament, which starts Monday at the Sands SM By the Bay.

The Tigresses are the most successful squad in the sport with five crowns, three of which were won by Rondina with different partners.

In her final season in the sand court, Rondina will team up with Babylove Barbon, as UST opens its campaign against University of the Philippines at 10:40 a.m.

Rondina, who represented the Philippines in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Manila Open last summer, has won three MVP awards in beach volleyball and is hoping to cap her stint in the sand court as a champion.

She found success with her new partner, Barbon, in the offseason, as they won a Beach Volleyball Republic leg last month to cement their status as UAAP favorites.

Last season’s runner-up, the Fa Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, will feature a new pair in Ivana Agudo and Marianne Calinawan to fill the void left by Bernadeth Pons and Kyla Atienza.

After achieving their first-ever podium finish behind Tots Carlos and Ayel Estranero last year, the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons will go with Isa Molde and Justine Dorog this time around.

Meanwhile, National University goes for back-to-back titles in the men’s division.

Now the most successful men's squad with four titles, the Bulldogs will lean once more on the battle-tested pair of Bryan Bagunas and James Natividad.

The Bulldogs will have two matches to set its title-retention campaign in motion, first against FEU at 8:00 a.m. and then Adamson University at 1:20 p.m.

University of Santo Tomas’ Krung Arbasto and his new partner, Jaron Requinton, will be National U’s biggest threat for the crown. The UST pair defeated Bagunas and Natividad for the BVR Manila Open crown last month.

Other women's matches on tap are FEU-De La Salle at 11:20 a.m., Ateneo-NU at 12 noon and University of the East-Adamson University at 12:40 p.m.

After the NU-FEU clash to open the men's session, UST takes on Ateneo at 8:40 a.m., Adamson University plays UP at 9 a.m. and De La Salle goes up against UE at 9:40 a.m.

Other men's afternoon games scheduled are UST-De La Salle at 2 p.m., FEU-UP at 2:40 p.m. and Ateneo-UE at 3 p.m.
