MANILA, Philippines – Defending champion National University and the University of the Philippines are still undefeated in the men's division after beating their respective foes in the UAAP Season 78 badminton tournament on Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Badminton Hall.

The Bulldogs downed De La Salle, 4-1, in a rematch of last season's Finals, while the Fighting Maroons tripped University of Santo Tomas, 4-1.

Both teams now tote 3-0 win-loss records.

National U also extended its winning streak to 21 straight ties, dating back to 2014.

Meanwhile, the Ateneo Blue Eagles seized solo third place after improving to 2-1 thanks to a 5-0 rout of University of the East.

In the other tie, Far Eastern University barged into the win column following a 4-1 victory over Adamson.

The Tamaraws are tied with the Green Archers, the Growling Tigers, and the Red Warriors at 1-2.

The Falcons, meanwhile, remain winless in three ties.
