MANILA, Philippines – TNT guard Jayson Castro earned PBA Player of the Week honors after helping the KaTropa extend its impressive campaign in the 2016 PBA Governors' Cup.

Castro had the last laugh in his scoring duel with GlobalPort's Terrence Romeo last week, with a season-high 37 points and going six-of-11 from beyond the arc as TNT outlasted the Batang Pier, 122-120.

"The Blur" also had eight assists and four rebounds in their win last August 31.

Three days later, he issued a personal-best 13 assists to go along with 16 points as TNT crushed defending champion San Miguel Beer, 105-85, in their out-of-town collision in Batangas City last Saturday.

Castro is averaging 21.78 points, 8.0 assists, 3.89 rebounds, and 1.22 steals per game this conference.

The back-to-back wins assured the KaTropa of a twice-to-beat advantage in the playoffs as they improved to a league-leading 8-1 record.

This is Castro's second Player of the Week plum in the conference. He beat NLEX's Garvo Lanete and Phoenix forward Willy Wilson for the citation for the period of August 29 to September 4.
