Olympic table tennis player Ian Lariba passed away Sunday night after losing her battle with cancer. She was 23.

Prior to her death, Lariba, who has been battling leukemia since last year, was admitted to St. Luke's Bonifacio Global City after suffering a relapse.

She completed a 5-day chemotherapy protocol and had her brain and spine MRI last August 23.

Lariba, a multi-titled student-athlete at De La Salle University, participated in the Rio Olympics in 2016.

She went undefeated her entire five-year career in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines playing for La Salle.
