KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – (UPDATED) The Philippines won its second and third gold medals in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games on Monday morning after Nikko Huelgas and Kim Mangrobang won in the men’s and women’s triathlon, respectively, at the Water Sports Complex in Putrajaya.

Huelgas' compatriot, John Chicano, won the silver, giving the Philippines a 1-2 finish in men's triathlon.

A similar 1-2 finish for the Philippines was recorded in the women’s triathlon with 2015 gold medal winner Claire Adorna settling for silver this year. Mangrobang was the silver medal winner in 2015.
