“ ’Pag iniisip mo na kung paano ka mananalo, mas makakalimutan mo na kailangan ikaw lagi ’yung bida. Di mo kailangan laging bida, importante manalo team,” Romeo said in an interview posted on the ABS-CBN Sports website.

“May mga games na 4 attempts lang ako pero panalo kami. May mga times na kailangan scoring ko.

“Hindi na mahalaga kung sino maraming points or kung sino best player every game. Sa thinking ng lahat ng players ng SMB, kahit si June Mar (Fajardo) na pinaka-magaling sa liga, ganu’n din. Unselfish.

“Para sakin, ’yun na-adapt ko sa SMB. Para laging panalo, dapat ma-adapt mo na maging unselfish ka.”

His best pair of games were crucial for the Beermen, exploding for 29 points in Game 2 as San Miguel won in double overtime to tie the series.

In Game 5, Romeo matched TNT’s Terrence Jones almost point-for-point in the first half to keep the Beermen within striking distance. He ultimately scored 22 points to help San Miguel take a 3-2 lead.
