MANILA, Philippines – A new team from the Philippines is set to compete in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) next season.

The Pilipinas Basketball Club, Inc. (PCBI), owned by sports management agency Virtual Playground, is the newest team to join the ABL.

They will be the fourth team to join the league, following the AirAsia Philippine Patriots, the San Miguel Beermen, and the Pilipinas MX3 Kings.

"We at Virtual Playground and the PCBI see the growing potential of the ABL," said Charlie Dy, who along with Dondon Monteverde heads the sports agency. "We just want the Philippines to be represented well, that's why we're making this effort."

The team has yet to come up with an official name and a roster of players, but they plan to play in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Cebu, and Davao.
