MANILA, Philippines – The De La Salle Green Archers showed that they are getting ready to defend their UAAP crown by sweeping the Buddha Light International Association (BLIA) Cup in Kaohsiung, Taiwan last weekend.

The Season 79 champions crushed French side Universite de Lyon, 93-74, on Sunday to complete a five-game sweep of the competition.

Reigning UAAP Most Valuable Player Ben Mbala led the way for La Salle with 26 points and 13 rebounds, while reigning Rookie of the Year Aljun Melecio added 19 markers.

According to a report from DLSU Sports, La Salle was in control most of the way, and led 66-53 entering the final frame before fending off a last-ditch rally by the French team.
