For the third game in a row in the 2019 Buddha’s Light International Association Cup, a different player busted out for the University of the Philippines.

Javi Gomez de Liano was online from start to finish as the Fighting Maroons had no problem romping past National Kaohsiung Normal University 97-67, on Thursday in Taiwan.

Gomez de Liano scored 25 points on an efficient 8-for-12 shooting, following Kobe Paras and Jun Manzo who stepped up for UP in the two previous games.

Paras and Manzo were key against Kaohsiung, too, as the former finished with 16 points, and the latter tallied 13 points and 8 assists.

Bright Akhuetie and Will Gozum dominated the interior by combining for 25 points and six rebounds.

UP was already in complete command in the first half before dropping a 32-point third quarter to blow the game wide open.

The Fighting Maroons' next assignment in the regional tournament is National Taiwan Normal University on Friday.
