MANILA, Philippines – Blackwater Elite is set to switch imports ahead of the playoffs of the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

They are bringing in Greg Smith, who previously played for the team in 2017, to replace Staphon Blair.

This, after Blair hurt his knee in their game against TNT KaTropa. Though the injury is "nothing serious," according to team official Patrick Aquino, the Elite want to be at full strength entering the playoffs.

Smith is expected to arrive on Monday evening, in time to join Blackwater in their preparations for the quarterfinals.

The Elite advanced to the quarterfinals as the third seed, the highest ever in franchise history.

Smith has had stints with the Houston Rockets and the Minnesota Timberwolves, and previously played in Puerto Rico before joining Blackwater.
