PBA: Reden Celda buries game winner, as Columbian Dyip thwarts Phoenix

Reden Celda's floater saved the day for the Columbian Dyip Saturday. PBA Media Bureau

Reden Celda scored the game-winning floater to lift Columbian Dyip past Phoenix Pulse 100-98 in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup at Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

The Fuel Masters trailed the Dyip for most of the game until Matthew Wright drilled a corner 3 that tied the count 98-all with 32.6 seconds remaining.

Phoenix had the chance to seal the win outright, but Glen Khobuntin swatted RJ Jazul’s attempt and Celda nailed the go-ahead jumper on the other end.

Celda finished with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. Lester Prosper added 25 points, 21 rebounds, and 2 blocks, while Rashawn McCarthy had 19 points for Columbian, which improved to 3-7.

It was a big loss for the Fuel Masters who were looking to strengthen their bid for the quarterfinals. Phoenix fell to 4-5.

Richard Howell led Phoenix with 35 points and 23 rebounds, while Wright finished with 23 points.

Columbian 100 - Prosper 25, McCarthy 19, Perez 18, Celda 17, Khobuntin 6, Reyes 5, Camson 4, Escoto 4, Cahilig 2, Faundo 0, Tabi 0.

Phoenix 98 - Howell 35, Wright 23, Jazul 12, Intal 8, Mallari 7, Perkins 7, Chua 6, Kramer 0, Marcelo 0, Napoles 0, Dennison 0.

Quarters: 22-27, 49-40, 73-71, 100-98.
