MANILA, Philippines – The Alaska Aces have switched imports heading into the playoffs of the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

The league confirmed Thursday that Alaska has signed Diamon Simpson – who powered Alaska to the 2010 Fiesta Conference title – to replace Antonio Campbell.

Campbell averaged 22.6 points and 14.8 rebounds in ten appearances for the Aces, helping them to a 7-3 record and a spot in the quarterfinals.

The 30-year-old Simpson, who has since played all over the world after his stint with Alaska, is expected to make his debut for the Aces on Friday when they play the Phoenix Fuel Masters.

"You can expect that we're gonna play hard and work as hard as we can," Simpson said in a video posted on the team's Facebook page.

Meanwhile, Alaska has also activated Jeron Teng, with Davon Potts relegated to the team's injured/reserve list.

Teng was involved in a stabbing incident in Bonifacio Global City last June.

If Alaska beats Phoenix on Friday, they will secure the No. 2 spot and thus get a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.

However, if they lose, they can drop to No. 4 and will play in a best-of-3 series.
