LOS ANGELES—A refreshed and playful Manny Pacquiao went back to work at the gym on Thursday morning, after doing road work.

In the afternoon, he sparred 10 rounds with Abraham Lopez and Jessie Roman after skipping his Wednesday mitt session.

"I have to recover to give time for my body to recover. That’s why I rested yesterday. Maganda naman, maganda ’yung condition namin, 10 rounds sparring," Pacquiao said.

Trainer Freddie Roach said he liked what he saw.

"Boxed 10 really, really good rounds today and I’m really happy with his sparring partners. Very good. They’re both doing a good job," Roach said.

Pacquiao said his condition is at about 90 percent, as he enters the heavy phase of training camp on Monday.

Adding extra fuel to Pacquiao's fire were some fighting words and a big wager from his American opponent.

While any trash talk from Pacquiao is rare, Roach believes many of Keith Thurman's comments have motivated the world champion boxer.

"He is bothered by some things said, and I like that (Pacquiao) does get angry. I do like when Manny doesn’t like his opponent because he does fight better," Roach said.

This past weekend, Thurman proclaimed that he’s betting $10,000 that he will knock out Pacquiao before Round 3.

To which Pacquiao said: "I wanna thank him, thank you for the donation."
