MANILA -- Controversial actor Baron Geisler thought he was attending a press conference for his upcoming rematch against Kiko Matos but soon realized that he was at the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) forum, which had just concluded.

Geisler faced a handful of sports reporters on Tuesday and expressed his dismay on how the URCC has supposedly given him the runaround.

He claimed he was supposed to talk about his upcoming rematch with Matos on August 12.

“I came all the way from Pampanga just to be here… I’m very calm right now, but they made me look like an a**hole,” he said.

“They’ve been giving me wrong directions since 9 a.m. I was supposed to start training today.”

Geisler was accompanied by his brother, former taekwondo national team member Donald Geisler and his wife Jennifer, his director-videographer Ed Vicuna and his agent-manager Peejay Vicuna.

“We were instructed to get here to attend the URCC press con. So gulat po kami,” Vicuna said.

In light of what happened, Geisler said he might back out from his rematch with Matos after the URCC allegedly “tricked” him.

Geisler has figured in a highly publicized grudge match with Matos with became the centerpiece of URCC Fight Night in June last year.

The bout stemmed from a bar brawl between the two actors.

Months later, they revealed that the match was only part of a documentary, although they insisted that the actual fight was real.

Geisler is claiming that their rematch has nothing to do with the first fight. “This is no longer about the ‘Beast mode’ fight,” he maintained.

“This URCC presscon is a circus, they are not professionals. I woke up very early (to attend the press con). My friends and family are here to support me, but I do not know what in the world is going on right now,” he said.

But in the previous statement posted in his Facebook page, URCC founder Alvin Aguilar said they are not staging a rematch between Geisler and Matos.

Aguilar also said that after the Geisler fight, Matos wanted to turn pro but this doesn’t mean the actor will fight Geisler again.

"I ALWAYS give the fans the fights they want to see. Now unless there is an overwhelming reason given by the fans, this fight is NOT going to happen," Aguilar wrote on Facebook.
