Ricky Dandan announces resignation from Columbian

MANILA, Philippines -- Ricky Dandan has quit on Columbian Dyip.

Dandan officially announced his resignation from the PBA squad, opting to focus on his role as one of Bo Perasol's assistants with the UP Fighting Maroons.

In a statement, first reported by Lyn Olavario of News 5, Dandan expressed hos gratitude to Columbian but after careful consideration, he has chosen to let go of the PBA and instead put his full attention to the UAAP.

"I have arrived at this decision after much thought and consideration," Dandan said.

"My personal decision now is to concentrate on helping coach Bo Perasol and the UP Fighting Maroons in our quest for the Final Four in the forthcoming UAAP season," he added.

Dandan has been coaching the Dyip since early in the Philippine Cup after Chris Gavina also quit on the expansion franchise.

After a 1-10 stint in the All-Filipino, Columbian showed improvedment and went on the finish the Commissioner's Cup with a 4-7 mark.

That, however, is not enough to make the playoffs.
