MANILA, Philippines -- The Philippines proved that it was the dominant force in Southeast Asian basketball in the virtual realm after completing a five-game sweep of Indonesia in the FIBA esports Open 2020 on Sunday night.

Led by Custer "Aguila" Galas, the Filipinos romped their way to a 71-35 rout of Indonesia.

"Many congratulations on the 5-0 sweep," Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) president Al Panlilio said. "Thank you, Team Pilipinas."

"SBP is very proud of you all. Keep on playing and improving for future FIBA esports tournaments. Remain humble but hungry," he added.

Their dominance continued on Day 2, as Rial Polog steered the team to a pair of 66-34 and 79-44 routs.

Aside from the Philippines, Australia, Argentina, Italy, and Saudi Arabia also topped their respective conferences at the end of the three-day tournament.
