Rebo Saguisag acknowledged that his role as UAAP executive director helped him win a post in the Makati city council in this month's elections.

“If senior citizens (ang nilalapitan ko), babanggitin mo ang tatay ko. Ipapakita ang flyers kung nasaan ang (picture ng) tatay ko,” the son of former senator Rene Saguisag said in an interview on CNN Philippines on Wednesday.

“If the younger ones, mga dalaginding, especially (if they are familiar with) volleyball . . . they'd recognize me as UAAP sports director.

“Malaking tulong iyon. Malaking exposure. (They recognize me) every time maipakita ang picture ko with the stars like sina Alyssa (Valdez), our friends, Kiefer and Thirdy (Ravena).”

Saguisag, who is aligned with incumbent mayor Abby Binay, said he'll do his best to juggle his time as UAAP boss and public servant.

“We have in our team, Jong Hilario, who has 'Probinsyano' and 'Showtime'. Kayang kaya daw naman, time management lang daw,” Saguisag said.
