#HalalanResults: PBA MVP Vergel Meneses scores Bulacan mayoral win

PBA legend Vergel Meneses won the mayoralty of Bulakan town, Bulacan, 3 years after a failed initial foray into politics.

Meneses got 23,469 votes, over Piccolo Meneses, based on unofficial results aggregated from Comelec data as of 1:19 a.m.

The other Meneses got 16,476 votes.

In 2016, the former Jose Rizal University coach fell short in his bid to be elected vice mayor of the same town.

Meneses is a 3-time PBA champion and the 1995 Most Valuable Player. After retiring he eventually switched to coaching.
