MANILA - Former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Dorian Alan Peña underwent inquest proceedings at the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday following his arrest in a buy-bust operation in Mandaluyong City.

Peña faces charges for violations of Republic Act (RA) No. 9165, specifically for use of dangerous drugs and visiting a drug den.

The complaint was filed by the National Bureau of Investigation Task Force on Illegal Drugs (NBI-TFAID).

Charged with him are two other respondents, Ledy Mea Vilchez and Jose Paolo Ampeso, who are slapped with the following charges:

- sale of dangerous drugs;
- maintenance of a den;
- possession of dangerous drugs;
- possession of apparatus and other paraphernalia; -use of dangerous drugs; and,
- conspiracy.

The buy-bust operation took place in Merryland Village, Mandaluyong City, and yielded two plastic sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride (“shabu”) and several drug paraphernalia.

All three respondents tested positive for drug use.

The inquests were conducted by Assistant State Prosecutors Jocelyn Dugay and Ethel Rhea Suril.
