MANILA, Philippines – TNT veteran Jayson Castro came through with an import-like performance last Sunday to capture the PBA Press Corps Player of the Week award in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

With American reinforcement Jeremy Tyler limited to just two points, Castro delivered for the KaTropa in their 96-92 triumph over Barangay Ginebra.

"The Blur" was in his element in the second half as he scored eight points in the third period, then knocked down back-to-back three-pointers in the fourth period to highlight an 11-1 TNT run that put them in control of the game.

Castro finished with 27 points, five assists, three steals, and a rebound in 28 minutes of action, once again coming off the bench for the KaTropa.

The Gilas Pilipinas mainstay edged GlobalPort's Stanley Pringle and Sean Anthony, Rain or Shine's Jay Washington, Alaska's Vic Manuel, Meralco's Chris Newsome and Mike Tolomia, and Phoenix's Matthew Wright and Willie Wilson for the weekly citation.

TNT currently sits at the top of the league standings with its 3-0 slate.

They return to action on Sunday, May 13, against the surging Alaska Aces at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
