Team Lakay's Joshua Pacio had an impressive outing in the preliminaries of "ONE: Global Rivals" on Friday night by finishing fellow Filipino Rabin Catalan.

The Benguet-based fighter, who is also a Pacific Xtreme Cagefighting (PXC) champion, showed superb and accurate stand-up and ground skills against Catalan.

Pacio was able to take down the Mindanao native twice, but it was in the second round where he got his break when he secured a full mount against Catalan.

From there, he rained hammer fists and straights against Catalan until the referee stopped the fight at 3:19 of Round 2.

Pacio improved his unbeaten record to 7-0.

Meanwhile, birthday girl April Osenio also had a thrilling exchange against fellow Filipina Natalie Gonzales Hills that ended in a single round.

Hills, who is fighting out of Australia, consistently went for the takedown. Osenio nearly got her in an armbar, but she escaped and fought on.

Osenio, however, secured another arm bar and this time she didn't let go until Hills tapped out in pain.

Another Team Lakay fighter, flyweight Danny Kingad opened the card with a stoppage win against his Malaysian foe.

Kingad pounced on Muhamad Haidar, who was trapped in a full mount. The Baguio-based fighter punishined the defenseless Haidar with vicious gound and pound, forcing the referee to step in 2:20 left in the first round.

Filipino fighter Burn "Hitman" Soriano was not as lucky.

After nearly trapping "Terminator" Sunoto of Indonesia with a kimura, he failed to escape a full mount and got battered. The fight ended via referee stoppage due to strikes in favor of Sonoto.

ONE welterweight champion Ben Askren is defending his title against Nikolay Alekshin in the main event.
