MANILA, Philippines – University of Santo Tomas (UST) pulled off a 2-1 win over National University (NU) to bolster its Final 4 hopes on Sunday in the UAAP Season 79 men's football tournament at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Darwin Busmion and AJ Pasion found the back of the net for the Growling Tigers, as UST improved to 17 points in fourth place at the league table.

The Bulldogs, meanwhile, dropped to the fifth spot with 16 points.

On Saturday, Alberto Echin delivered a late winner as University of the East (UE) stunned Far Eastern University (FEU), 2-1.

Echin scored in stoppage time to give the Red Warriors their first win in almost a month.

The loss kept the Tamaraws in third place with 19 points.

Rico Andes had put FEU ahead in the 36th minute for his fourth goal of the season, but Jasper Absalon's 70th penalty forged the equalizer for UE.

The seventh-running Warriors now have eight points.

In other games, Jordan Jarvis produced a hat-trick, while Jarvey Gayoso netted a brace to hike his goal total to eight, as early semifinalist Ateneo de Manila University demolished Adamson University, 7-1, on Saturday.

The Blue Eagles now have 29 points, one clear off University of the Philippines (UP), who beat De La Salle University, 2-1.

Rupert Baña and Christian Castillo also joined the scoring party for the Blue Eagles, who have yet to taste a defeat this season.
