MANILA, Philippines – University of Santo Tomas (UST) secured a place in the Finals of the UAAP Season 80 women's football tournament after defeating defending champion De La Salle University on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The Tigresses notched a 5-2 rout of the Lady Archers, with Charise Lemoran and Shelah Mae Cadag each netting braces.
This is the second time in Season 80 that UST has beaten La Salle. They solidified their hold of the top spot with 16 points.
Earlier, Far Eastern University leveled with De La Salle at 12 points after a 3-0 victory of University of the Philippines.

The Lady Archers though are in second place by virtue of superior goal difference over the Lady Tamaraws.
FEU is simply eyeing for a playoff for the remaining berth in the championship match, but its fate is not in its hands, as De La Salle has two matches on hand.
Before facing the Lady Tamaraws to wrap up their elimination round assignments on Saturday, the Lady Archers will take on the winless Lady Maroons on Wednesday.
