UAAP: FEU stays unbeaten with sweep of Adamson

MANILA - Far Eastern University (FEU) racked up its sixth win in a row with a sweep of Adamson University in the UAAP Season 81 men's volleyball tournament on Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Tamaraws' net defense was once again on point in their 25-14, 25-23, 25-23 victory over the Soaring Falcons.

The 70-minute victory hiked their record to 6-0, as the Tamaraws tightened their grip on the top spot of the league standings.

Richard Solis and Jude Garcia each scored 12 points to power the Tams, while JP Bugaoan added 11 markers. As a team, FEU tallied 41 kills to Adamson's 31. They also had 12 kill blocks, with Bugaoan accounting for four.

Paolo Pablico scored 12 points, and George Labang Jr. had 11 for the Falcons who have now lost back-to-back games since starting the season with three straight wins.

Meanwhile, Ateneo de Manila University secured its second consecutive win after taking down University of the Philippines, 25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 25-13.

Gian Glorioso was superb for the Blue Eagles, exploding for 20 points on 12 kills and six blocks to power the Katipunan spikers to their third win of the season.

Chu Njigha had 12 points, Tony Koyfman added 11, and John Rivera scored 10 markers for the Blue Eagles, which tallied 48 kills in the game.

Jerry San Pedro was the lone UP player in double-digits with 14 points. The Fighting Maroons have now lost all five of their assignments this season.
