MANILA, Philippines – Ateneo coach Sherwin Meneses says he holds no ill feelings for Adamson after he coached the Lady Eagles to a three-set victory over the Lady Falcons in the UAAP Season 79 tournament on Saturday.

Meneses was a longtime member of the Adamson coaching staff before taking on the head coaching position in Season 74. He resigned midway through Season 78, however, and took his talents to Katipunan soon after to join the Ateneo coaching staff.

Calling the shots for the Lady Eagles for the second straight game on Saturday, Meneses encountered little trouble against a young Adamson team that is still finding its footing in the UAAP. Behind the excellent playmaking of skipper Jia Morado, Ateneo cruised to a 25-19, 25-18, 25-13 victory to improve to 3-1 in the season.

"Siyempre, nalulungkot tayo kasi team natin 'yan, lahat ng players doon, naabutan ko pa," said Meneses, who helped the Lady Falcons make the Final Four in Seasons 75 and 76.

"Pero ganoon talaga ang trabaho," he insisted. "Trabaho lang. Sila na ang bahala doon. Sila na ang nakaupo doon. Hopefully, maging successful sila."

Asked if he bore any hard feelings for the Adamson team, Meneses was quick to answer: "Wala na. Matagal na. Lumipas na 'yun."

He also wished the Lady Falcons success in their new era under Coach Airess Padda.

"Tingin ko mag-iimprove sila doon kay Coach Air kasi, siyempre, imported. Makinig lang sila," he said.

Meneses has been coaching the Lady Eagles for the past two games while head coach Tai Bundit returned to Thailand for a personal matter.
