MANILA, Philippines – De La Salle-Zobel turned back University of Santo Tomas, 72-65, to clinch the last spot in the Final Four of the UAAP Season 79 juniors basketball tournament on Thursday at the Arena in San Juan.

Joaqui Mariano had 17 points and six rebounds, while Jan Sobrevega added 14 markers and four boards for the Junior Archers.

La Salle will take on defending champion National University in a rematch of last season's Finals next week.

CJ Cansino had 17 points and 12 boards in a losing effort for the Tiger Cubs.

Meanwhile, Far Eastern University (FEU)-Diliman rallied from 16 points down to stun the Ateneo de Manila University, 64-62, and secure the twice-to-beat edge in the Final Four.

Jack Gloria was solid for FEU with 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Kenji Roman and Ron Abarrientos had 10 points each.

SJ Belangel had 23 points, six rebounds, and four assists, but he also turned the ball over six times for the Blue Eaglets. Belangel was called for a crucial offensive foul in the final five seconds of the game that allowed FEU to ice the win.

The Blue Eaglets and the Baby Tamaraws face off again next week, with FEU needing just one more win order to advance to the best-of-three title series.

The Bullpups also need to beat the Junior Archers just once to return to the championship round.
