RR Garcia took over from his more high-profile teammates in the clutch, scoring 5 of his 13 points late to lead TNT to a 90-85 victory over Kia in the PBA Philippine Cup at Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.

A slip by Jayson Castro caused by a wet part of the floor led to a turnover and a basket by Jackson Corpuz to help Kia narrow the gap at 85-83 1:35 left in the game.

But Garcia came to the rescue hitting back-to-back layups as TNT raised its record to 4-3.

Kelly Williams led TNT with 23 points and 8 rebounds, while Castro finished with 22 points and 9 assists.

A week after being blown out by 29 points against Meralco, Kia was sharper against TNT.

Coach Ricky Dandan and his crew took a 62-58 lead less than 3 minutes left in the third, before TNT scored 11 straight to go up 69-62 heading to the fourth.

But Kia didn't back down, constantly lurking and when it fell by 11 points fighting back to threaten inside the last 2 minutes.

Rashawn McCarthy scored 21 points and finished with 7 assists for Kia, which fell to 1-6.
