MANILA, Philippines—Twenty teams are competing in the 2019 PBA D-League season, which opens at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City on February 14.

Go for Gold—College of Saint Benilde, which ruled the Foundation Cup last year, returns to face a tough field that includes UAAP champion Ateneo de Manila University, NCAA champion San Beda University, and NAASCU champion Saint Clare.

There will be 15 school-based teams participating this year, with the league holding just one tournament instead of two.

League pioneer Centro Escolar University, last season's back-to-back runner-up Che'Lu Bar & Grill, and holdovers Marinerong Pilipino, Batangas-EAC, and AMA Online Education will all take part in the tournament, along with returnees Perpetual Help and Wangs Basketball.

NCAA contenders Letran and San Sebastian will also participate.

Newcomers Diliman College, Phoenix-Enderun, Trinity College, and McDavid complete the field.

The PBA D-League Draft takes place on Tuesday, January 15, with AMA Online Education making the first pick.
