MANILA (5th UPDATE) — Some local government units (LGUs) on Sunday have announced the suspension of classes on Monday, September 30, due to the inclement weather brought by severe tropical storm Julian.

Classes at all levels in the following areas have been suspended:

Batanes (no face-to-face classes – Monday to Tuesday)

Baguio City (no face-to-face classes)

Calayan, Cagayan (no face-to-face classes)

Aparri (public schools at all levels; until further notice)

Tuao, Cagayan (no face-to-face classes) 

Manaoag (no face-to-face classes)

La Union (no face-to-face classes)

Abra (no face-to-face classes)

Rosales, Pangasinan (no face-to-face classes) 

Mapandan, Pangasinan (no face-to-face classes)


Elementary to High School: 

Tuguegarao, Cagayan (no face-to-face classes)

Work in government offices are also suspended in Batanes from Monday to Tuesday, and in Ilocos Sur and La Union on Monday.

Julian intensified into a typhoon Sunday afternoon and is forecast to bring fierce winds and high waves over many coastal areas in northern Luzon, the state weather service said.
