MANILA (UPDATE) — Six fishermen were reported dead after their boat caught fire in the waters off Naga City, Cebu on Wednesday night.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Central Visayas said authorities received a report of a fire onboard the FBCA King Bryan with 11 crew members.

The incident was said to have started from the engine of the fishing boat that came from Masbate.

On Wednesday night, two individuals were found dead while six individuals were rescued, including the boat’s captain and one that was unconscious after suffering third degree burns. They are recuperating in different hospitals.

This morning, four more cadavers were found. They had to be extracted since they were stuck beneath the boat.
