Mud-caked clothes, appliances, and other debris line Purok 7 Nonong Casto in Lemery, Batangas on Tuesday, days after severe tropical storm Kristine unleashed its fury in parts of the country.

Residents of the community have no choice but to pick themselves up and continue with their lives, no matter how hard it gets.

But for mothers like Angela Magalang, seeing her hard work washed away is starting to take its toll, specially since it also affects her family.

"Ka po-provide ko pa lang po, sakto namang nag-bagyo," she says as she cleans and dries her son's school texbooks. A casualty of the flood brought by Kristine.

Aside from the books, the appliances they use for their business were also washed away by the flood.

She says she thought about returning her children to her hometown in Mindoro. She said, however, she decided against us because she wants them together.

"Kung sila po ay maililipat doon, eh magkakalayo po kami dahil andito ako."

For now, Magalang is appealing for help. Not just for her, but for the whole of Purok 7.
