A fisherman who went missing after a fishing boat capsized off the coast of Barangay Binuangan in Obando, Bulacan, was found dead on Friday afternoon.

The Obando Police reported receiving a call informing them that the body of the missing victim, Jerry Lacaña, had been discovered floating along the riverbank in Barangay Salambao, Obando, Bulacan.

They immediately conducted a retrieval operation, and the body was positively identified by his live-in partner.

A barangay official said that the victim's remains will be cremated and transported to his hometown in the Visayas region.

Meanwhile, the nine fishermen who survived the incident have undergone medical examinations and will be questioned by authorities as part of the investigation.
