MANILA - Filipino professionals across the globe are invited to join a brainstorming and mentoring event in Orlando, Florida next month, an offshoot of a successful run in New York.
The next chapter of PH Time Is Now is slated to happen on December 1 at the ecoSPEARS headquarters in the sunshine state with the theme, “Global Filipino Entrepreneurs: Connect. Build. Grow.”
Ian Doromal, co-founder and vice-president at the environmental technology company and an alumnus of the program, recalled that he got involved with the project because it is "an outlet for me not just to connect, but to give as well."
"It’s in our [Filipino] blood to give back, but most people don’t know how or where to start – until now," he said in a statement.
"We have a responsibility to help our fellow Filipinos and I recognized immediately that PH Time Is Now was the right platform to do so," he added.
Event organizer Carissa Villacorta said while it was unexpected for the next leg of PH Time Is Now to happen soon after the success of the New York and Toronto chapters, it was a "welcome development when people requested for a more immediate timeline and volunteered to help bring the event to their home cities."
"People have an inherent need to connect, to collaborate and to celebrate," she said.
"Each one of us has a message to share and a lesson to learn so no matter the size of space or the length of time, let’s continue to listen to and care for one another," she added.
