The whale was earlier spotted at neighboring Finnmark, wearing a harness and a mount suited for an action camera. The text "Equipment St. Petersburg" was printed on the plastic clasps. Marine biologist Jorgen Ree Wiig said the whale could have come from neighboring Russia, where he believed it might have escaped an enclosure.
