A South Korean national was shot dead last Sunday (April 20) after he and his friend were robbed in Angeles City, Pampanga.

According to CCTV footage in the area, at around 1:50 p.m., the 45-year-old South Korean tourist was standing in front of a bank with his fellow Korean.

Suddenly, two suspects on a black motorcycle suddenly approached them, with the armed backrider swiftly snatching the sling bag from the victim's friend.

The bag contained a passport, P5,000 in cash, and a cellphone.

In an attempt to recover the sling bag, the tourists confronted the suspect and during the struggle, the gunman shot the victim and quickly fled the scene.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

In response to the tragic incident, the Angeles City local government unit convened with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and issued a 72-hour ultimatum to resolve the murder of the Korean national.

(Mayor Pogi Lazatin has issued an order to set up checkpoints and increase police visibility. He also appointed the Angeles City Command Center to check every angle of CCTVs in the area.)

(Actually, we have already seen where the suspects went and where they came from, and this information has already been given to the police.)

The incident marks the first case of a South Korean national's death related to robbery in the city, raising concerns among residents.

(Our mayor assures that the safety of our Korean brothers and sisters, and other tourists remain a priority of our local government.)

According to the PNP, they have already begun backtracking through CCTV footage and are currently following leads in the case.
