MANILA — Malacañang on Monday announced that it will implement a half-day work from home scheme for government workers on April 16 to give them more leeway to travel to provinces for the Lenten break.

Under Memorandum Circular No. 81, government employees will have the following work arrangement on April 16:

- work from home (8 a.m. to 12 noon)

- suspension of work in government offices from 12:00 in the afternoon onwards

This work arrangement is designed “to provide government employees full opportunity to properly observe Maundy
Thursday and Good Friday on 17-18 April 2025, and to allow them to travel to and
from the different regions in the country,” the document read.

Government agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health
services, disaster response and other vital services “shall continue with their operations under usual working arrangements and render the necessary services,” it read.
