MANILA – Dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo had up to 6 foreign "supporters" and hid at a monk’s house before her arrest in Indonesia this week, an International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) official said Friday.

A female monk had offered Guo sanctuary at a house in Tangerang City, said the head of the Interpol in Indonesia, Inspector General Krisha Murti.
He said Guo’s foreign "supporters" included 5 Chinese and an Indonesian. They handled all her needs, including her online transactions, he said.
"Some supporters...know nothing about Alice Guo, said they only support her, like renting a car, paying the hotel... They transfer money from [another] country," Murti said.

But Indonesia authorities received information from their Philippine counterparts on Guo and her companions, which later led to the arrest of her reported sister Shiela and gambling hub representative Cassandra Ong.

Guo had been on the run since she was linked to a Chinese-run online gambling center where hundreds of people were forced to run scams or risk torture. Following her arrest in Indonesia on Tuesday, she returned to the Philippines at around 1:30 a.m. on Friday.
