MANILA — The Commission on Elections reminded those filing their certificate of candidacy (COC) to heed to the Commission's rules to avoid problems in their candidacy.

The Comelec issued the reminders on late Monday, the eve of the first day of the filing of COCs.

The Comelec main office will hold its filing site at the Manila Hotel Tent City and will only accept the following:

-COC for senator

-Certificate of nomination, acceptance of nomination, affidavit of qualification for partylist system

-COC for governor, vice governor, sangguniang panlalawigan member

-COC for House of Representatives member (except for aspiring solons in NCR)

Aspiring members of the House of Representatives from NCR may file their COC at the Comelec regional office in San Juan.

Meanwhile, those running for mayor, vice mayor, Sangguniang bayan member, and Sangguniang panlunsod member may file their COCs at the respective Comelec offices of the city or municipality they are running for.

The Comelec warned aspirants that filing their COC at the wrong office may result in their candidacy being void.

"Ang COC na mali ang pinagdalhan ay parang hindi na rin nai-file 'yan. Pag nangyari 'yan, wag niyong asahan na kayo ay makakasama sa talaan ng mga kandidato," Comelec Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said in TeleRadyo Serbisyo's Johnson Ikwento Mo.

"Para itong mere scrap of paper. Kahit pa sabihin niyong natanggap ng Comelec office namin 'yan. Dahil po dapat ang bawat COC ay doon sa tamang opisina ng Comelec naipa-file," he continued.

Comelec also said that aspirants for the Senate seat and partylist members may only bring four companions each.

Those running for positions from governor to Sanggunian member are only allowed three companions.

The first official campaign day for national positions is on February 11, 2025 and for local positions, March 28, 2025.
