Alice Guo had a noticeable change in demeanor — she was angered, by her own admission — after seeing the allegations of jailed tycoon She Zhijiang, who claims to be a former spy of China's Ministry of State Security.

In an Al Jazeera documentary shown to Guo during the September 27 House panel hearing, She Zhijiang's dossier on Guo Hua Ping is said to have details on the Chinese national's birth place, family address, and alleged birth mother.

She Zhijiang, who is detained in Thailand and is facing deportation to China, also addressed Guo Hua Ping, telling her, "China cannot be trusted."

"The two of us once dedicated our lives to China's Ministry of State Security. Look at what happened to me. If you don't want to be eliminated, you should tell the world the truth," he said.

As the excerpt about Guo Hua Ping was played at the House probe, Guo appeared to watch and listen intently, leaning forward when She Zhijiang gave caution about possibly being "eliminated."

Guo, who admitted she was "emotional" over the "unfair" accusation of being a Chinese spy, went on to vehemently deny knowing She Zhijiang and being the woman in his dossier.
