'Asenso Manileño' introduces lineup for 2025 midterm polls

MANILA – Asenso Manileño, a party led by Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna, has officially announced their slate for next year’s midterm elections.

The announcement was made on Friday at San Andres Sports Complex, a week before the Commission on Elections starts the filing of certificates of candidacies (CoC).

The party’s lineup will include incumbents Lacuna and Vice Mayor Yul Servo who are both gunning for a second term as the City’s top officials.

During the party’s convention, Manny Lopez was also named as the party’s bet for Manila's 1st District Congressman, joining current Manila representatives who are all seeking reelection: 2nd District Rep. Rolando Valeriano, 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua, 4th District Rep. Edward Maceda, 5th District Rep. Irwin Tieng, and 6th District Rep. Benny Abante.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Lacuna emphasized the importance of being elected together with her running mate Servo.

“Napakahalaga po nyan dahil dapat iisa lang po ang aming adhikain dapat magkakatigma po ang aming gustong ihain,” she said.

Lacuna, if given another chance, said that she would continue the programs she started when she claimed her seat in 2022.

She also vowed to pursue programs that will improve the health, livelihood, and infrastructure, and education in the City.

Asked if she felt betrayed when former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso confirmed his mayoral bid in the City for the 2025 polls, Lacuna said: “Opo.

She said Asenso Manileño is all set for the filing of the CoC next week.
